I disappeared once; one of the many women to become a missing person.

One of the fortunate few to be found.

These are my words and this is the story of how I was FORGOTTEN.

I wrote it during the throes of disordered eating and self-loathe.  Eventually, after a long and beautiful recovery process, I published it on another site. But, I wanted to post it here for the LuEats community because I know that many of you can relate.

Many of you are missing.  You are weary and lonely and lost.

Some of you seek control through restriction, dieting and over-exercising.  Some of you use food to soothe painful emotions. Some of you use it to reward yourself in the otherwise thankless jobs of mothering, wife-ing, working or friend-ing.  Still others of you are striving for perfection in a world where it simply doesn’t exist.

All of you are waiting to be found.

Take heart, dear ones.  There is always hope.

*If you are one of the forgotten and want to share your story then contact me RIGHT HERE.  It feels so good to come out of hiding.  And if you’re not yet ready – I’ve been there too.  Just know I am thinking of you and rooting for your homecoming.*
